“stillwater cottage”
the red carpet, fuzzy and warm
on my bare feet.
The crackling fire roars up the
Chimney sweep.
Out the window the snow falls
softly—as I gently weep.
The glow of the lonely light
penetrates the night sky, as others sleep.
Why do I sit here?
peering into the sunset from my one bedroom suite…
gently humming to distract my mind from the growing
feeling of her dreadful deceit.
As my heart has torn in two,
All I have left to feel complete,
Is the growing seed of something yet to be?
As I sit here wandering, wondering, in my new found retreat.
the red carpet, fuzzy and warm
on my bare feet.
The crackling fire roars up the
Chimney sweep.
Out the window the snow falls
softly—as I gently weep.
The glow of the lonely light
penetrates the night sky, as others sleep.
Why do I sit here?

As my heart has torn in two,
All I have left to feel complete,
Is the growing seed of something yet to be?
As I sit here wandering, wondering, in my new found retreat.
